Welcome to Cats Onlycute kitten

Putting your cat first

I offer feline friendly home visits in Skipton, Ilkley and surrounding areas for cats that don’t like travelling to the vets and for owners who don’t want the hassle of getting them there.

Almost everything typically done during a visit to the vets’ I can perform in your own home, avoiding the stress for your cat of the basket, the car journey and the barking dog in the waiting room.

Procedures that cannot be conducted in the home are carried out at Cats Only’s fully equipped premises. I am more than happy to transport your pets safely in my dedicated vehicle at no extra cost.

Veterinary house calls are traditionally quite costly but, having fewer overheads than a traditional practice, I am able to provide this personal service at a very competitive rate. Prices

Having lived and worked in the area for over twenty years I feel that this is a service that will undoubtedly benefit local cats and their staff (dogs have owners, cats have staff!).

About me

I qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1985 and subsequently worked in private practice in the North of England for a number of years.

After what turned out to be a prolonged career break due to having five children I returned to work in 2006 at the RSPCA in Bradford where I developed a particular interest in cats. In fact this was where I acquired one of my own cats, Stig, who was brought in with his littermates at less than a week old having been discovered on a conveyor belt at the local tip.

In 2009 I completed a General Practitioner Certificate in Feline Practice bringing me back up to date with all the latest developments in feline medicine. I now enjoy studying more than ever and I am currently working towards my Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice.

I am married to Jonathan, a local farm vet, and we live in Embsay with our sons, two cats, three dogs and several hens.
